About Me

David W. Peters served as an enlisted Marine and Army chaplain, deploying to Baghdad, Iraq in 2005-2006. His experiences in Iraq and his post-traumatic ministry is told here by NPR’s John Burnett. Even though he retired from the army, his threefold mission never ends: Nurture the Living, Care for the Wounded, and Honor the Dead. Prior to planting St. Joan of Arc in 2019, he was the Associate Rector at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in South Austin and Curate at Grace Episcopal Church in Georgetown, TX. David has degrees from Seminary of the Southwest (M.A.R.) and Erskine Theological Seminary (D.Min). His final assignment in the Army was as an instructor at the US Army Chaplain Center and School and he has taught as an Adjunct Instructor at Seminary of the Southwest.
